(서울=연합뉴스) 홍성록 기자 = 탤런트 겸 영화배우 재희(24)가 이름에 얽힌 에피소드를 소개했다. 현재 KBS 드라마 `미안하다, 사랑한다"의 후속으로 내년 1월 방영 예정인 드라마 `쾌걸 춘향"에서 이몽룡 역을 맡아 촬영에 매진하고 있는 재희는 영화 `빈집" 촬영 때부터 이현균이라 본명 대신 재희라는 예명으로 활동하고 있다. 그가 96년 데뷔 당시부터 썼던 본명을 버리고 예명을 사용하게 된 것은 너무 어려운 발음 때문. 재희는 "발음이 어려워 한번에 알아듣는 사람이 많지 않았고 기사에 이름이 잘못 나오는 경우도 허다했다"며 예명을 사용하게 된 동기를 밝힌 뒤 "재희라는 이름은 매니저 등 주위 사람들에게 가장 부르기 쉬운 이름을 물어 즉석에서 지은 것"이라고 이름이 탄생한 배경을 설명했다. 그저 재희라는 발음으로만 사용됐던 이름이 뜻을 갖게 된 것 올해 베니스 영화제에서다. 재희가 출연한 `빈집"이 베니스영화제 경쟁부문에 진출하면서 레드 카펫을 밟은 재희는 대만, 중국 기자들과의 인터뷰 중 한자 뜻이 뭐냐는 질문에 잠시 망설이다가 "있을 재, 기쁠 희"라고 즉석에서 대답했다는 것. 이름에 `기쁨이 있어라"라는 뜻을 갖게 된 재희는 `빈집"을 연출한 김기덕 감독이 베니스영화제 감독상을 수상하면서 하루아침에 유명스타가 됐고 올해 청룡영화상에서 남자 신인상을 거머줬다. sunglok@yna.co.kr (끝) <저 작 권 자(c)연 합 뉴 스. 무 단 전 재-재 배 포 금 지.>
